Lea Michele received a standing ovation for her debut “Funny Girl”

Lea Michele received a warm welcome upon her return to Broadway.
According to Deadline , the “Glee” star’s role as Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” earned her four standing ovations before intermission. She was celebrated again at the final curtain when Michele and his co-star Tovah Feldschuh accepted bouquets of white roses.
Feldschuch plays Mrs. Brice in the production.
Michele’s former “Spring Awakening” co-star Jonathan Groff, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy and actor Zachary Quinto were among the audience.
Michele frequently referenced “Funny Girl” on “Glee,” and her character Rachel Berry sang “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “I’m the Biggest Star” and “People” from the musical.
“Funny Girl” last starred “Booksmart” actor Benny Feldstein.
Feldstein left Funny Girl two months early after it was announced she was being replaced by Michele, saying she stood by the decision to “take the show in a different direction.”
